CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – CBT has been proven to be effective with a wide range of issues. It focuses on identifying and restructuring unhelpful thought patterns that would lead to emotions and therefore reactions, behaviours or experiences that can be unhealthy, distressing or sometimes even destructive. CBT actively works on symptom reduction in the present, in the here and now and empowers you through tools and techniques that you can use outside of the sessions. There are many modalities that derive from CBT which target more specific difficulties. One example is DBT – Dialectal Behavioural Therapy.
