Why choose me to support your organisation?

Prior to qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I was a teacher for three years. Following my doctorate, I was fortunate enough to go back to the school environment where I was able to incorporate my taught clinical skills into the faculty. More specifically, I combined the two realms to run a department for special education and mental health. During my 12 years working in school settings, I lead the awareness and pastoral care department, I worked with children and families (ages 3 to 18) conducting neuropsychological assessments, learning disabilities assessments, counselling sessions, family sessions and I had the privileged role of advocating for children on a day-to-day basis and supporting their respective teaching staff and caregivers. Through formulating preventive enrichment sessions for students and delivering training workshops for teachers and caregivers, the school environment became more inclusive of children with all abilities.

Today, I have my own practice, and I am governor at my local primary school. Yet my underlying belief remains the same; everyone should have access to the appropriate resources that helps to set them free and achieve their ideal self. Irrespective of an individual’s age, gender, and financial status they merit the right to satisfactory welfare.
Therefore, in my endeavour of inclusivity I have worked with some colleagues to provide a low-cost therapy program aimed at providing universal mental wellbeing support. You can find out more about this at Low-Cost Therapy

Additionally, through integrating what the students/ teaching staff has taught me with what I know about therapy and psychological assessments I firmly believe that I have formulated the optimal psychological wellbeing educational bundles for schools and universities.
I have witnessed first-hand the transitional periods that children and young adults encounter, such as puberty, moving to college, universities etc. These experiences combined with change often triggers their vulnerability and promotes a series of issues. The domino effect of life’s challenges increases the susceptibility of developing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, stress, self-harming behaviours, and other challenging issues. As an experienced practitioner, I am well acquainted with these issues and how to adequately deal with them.

The Services I Can Provide

More specifically, I am aware that the majority of teaching staff and caregivers hold many questions concerning the appropriate way to assist students with learning difficulties/ disabilities or with mental health and/or behavioural issues. Fittingly, the designed bundles are tailored to include not only individual student assessments, but also interactive trainings for teachers and caregivers. The assessment incorporate comprehensive reports about the individual’s diagnoses and a proposed collaborative treatment plan. Any relevant staff and caregiver will also have access to psycho-education training, so that they are aware of how appropriately accommodate to individuals with special needs. Thus, this program is designed to safeguard the individual in educational and home environment. My experience is primarily with respect to working with challenging behaviours and managing spectrum developmental disorders, including ASC and ADHD.

A summary of what I can provide:

  • Neuropsychological assessments with a comprehensively written report aimed at providing a diagnoses and corresponding intervention plan.
  • One-to-one counselling/ therapy services.
  • Explicit support to caregivers and teaching staff on how to adequately deal with challenging behaviours.
  • Discussions with relevant care workers about the contemporary and long-term supervision of individuals presenting with challenging behaviours.
  • Deliver informative enrichment mental health sessions (workshops and interactive gatherings)
  • All my services can be done in English, Arabic and French
